Commercialization plan for a synthetic biology “biofoundry” platform

Project timeline: July 11th – Sept 2022, 10-12 weeks, virtual

Who you are:

– A graduate or professional student (i.e. PhD, MD, PharmD, MBA, MS), postdoc, clinical resident, or recent graduate

– Enthusiastic about gaining life-science business experience and helping a client identify how to bring their technology to market

– Eager to build teamwork and communication skills by researching current standards of care for autoimmune diseases

– Interest or experience in some of the following categories: lab automation, bioengineering, cell-free protein expression, and cell biology

– Able to commit 10-15 hours/week as a volunteer

What you will do:

You will be working with a seed-stage biotechnology company planning to commercialize a platform for automating common laboratory protocols. The client has decades of expertise in technology development and commercialization from Illuminia. You and your BCBA team will help the client identify, prioritize, and recommend commercially-viable workflows for their biofoundry platform. Your work will directly guide the company’s venture capital fund raising strategy!

To accomplish this, you and your BCBA teammates will:

– Identify and prioritize potential workflows for they platform through market landscaping, competitive analysis, and key-opinion leader interviews

– Recommend a commercial plan for the top biofoundry workflows by conducting early-adopter customer research and identifying the needs and pain points for each workflow

What you will get:
