Strategic Assessment and Indication Prioritization for Personalized Radiopharmaceutical Therapeutics (PRT) in Oncology

Who we are:

BCBA connects academic science trainees and recent graduates to the Bay Area’s biotech industry through hands-on consulting and due diligence projects. We are a volunteer organization composed of PhD students, post-docs, medical trainees, and young professionals looking to gain professional development for jobs in biotech companies, consulting, and venture capital. Over 450 scientists from across the country have participated in BCBA projects and have gone on to internships and full-time positions with leading biotech companies, consulting firms, and venture capitals firms.

 

Project timeline: end of March – mid July (12 weeks total)

Who you are:

  • A graduate/professional student (i.e. PhD, MS, MBA, MD, PharmD), postdoc, or recent graduate
  • Enthusiastic about gaining life-science business experience and helping select disease indication for developing strategy in the oncology space
  • Eager to build communication skills through conducting interviews of academic and industry key opinion leaders and presenting findings to the consulting team and client
  • Interest or research experience in some of the following categories: oncology, personalize medicine, competitive landscaping, radiopharmaceutical, indication prioritization, clinical trial analysis, translational research
  • Able to commit 10-15 hours/week as a volunteer

 

What you will do:

You will be working with a startup developing personalized radiopharmaceutical therapeutics for oncology, with the goal to ensures the client’s technology effectively addresses unmet patient needs while maintaining a strong competitive advantage, as well as to minimize the time to first patient data and first approved indication. Your responsibilities will include analyzing the disease landscape, standard treatments, and unmet patient needs to identify the most suitable disease indications for the therapy. After prioritizing the disease indications, you will develop a strategic roadmap for clinical development and conduct a case study analysis to assess the competitive landscape, recent clinical advancements, and key challenges to compare PRT with other therapeutic modalities, including ADCs, mRNA cancer vaccines, cell therapies, and conventional radiopharmaceuticals.
